| Door Dash and Gaming
DoorDash is the fastest-growing food delivery service in the USA
valued at a whopping 16 Billion dollars, but with 20 million users & approximately 2.9 Billion dollars in gross revenue in 2020, that’s no surprise, nor is it a surprise that they would be tapping into
one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, gaming,
partnering with multiple leagues, companies, and organizations,
including LCO (League Of Legends Circuit Oceania), The NBA 2K League, Kansas City Pioneers, and at one point teaming up with fast-food giant Burger King to promote the launch of Activision's: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
But with all of that said today, we will be focusing on an unlikely partnership with premiere Esports organization AKA Gaming.
-
It all started when Esports General Manager Zhuric Was
(Check out his full story here)
providing members DoorDash deliveries as an incentive,
It proved effective at keeping their members happy and at the same time
caught the eye of the food delivery giant,
they were contacted by DoorDash to give away
1,000$ USD in DoorDash gift cards to their community, and at one point I was told by AKA’s staff team that they were in talks for a full partnership with them.
With the Esports industry being as fast-growing as it as I said before It’s no surprise that large companies such as DoorDash are getting
involved, but it came as a massive surprise to everyone in the industry that they would partner with such a small organization at the time having less the five thousand followers on Twitter, but I have to say and I think I speak for the majority of people when I say this but,
It was fantastic to see a massive corporation help out a young and thriving gaming organization.
The Esports industry is obviously not going anywhere anytime soon & I think these massive corporations partnering within it proves a lot.
In the grand scheme of things
I feel that companies like DoorDash amongst others
becoming more and more involved in Esports is a great decisions and can be highly beneficial for both parties and
will continue to happen for the foreseeable future.
